I am pleased to be able to introduce our school to you. Much has been achieved since Yayasan Ciputra Pendidikan founded the school in 1996. Today Sekolah Ciputra is an international school and one of the most highly regarded IB World Schools in Indonesia. We believe that our International IB students are truly global citizens. Sekolah Ciputra is going from strength to strength with its highest student roll ever accompanied by our best ever academic results!
At Sekolah Ciputra our Motto is Non-Scholae Sed Vitae Discimus : We learn not for school but for life.
We place our emphasis on holistic education. The curriculum is broad and balanced with programmes that support the growth of the developing child, encompassing academic, ethical, social, physical, emotional and cultural needs. Students are guided to become independent learners and well-rounded individuals who have the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to prepare them for life in the 21st century. The school’s programmes support students to be compassionate citizens who are respectful and accepting of cultural diversity while retaining and valuing their own culture and language.
We take pride in the many activities and learning opportunities our children are exposed to. Additionally our facilities are internationally first class. Every classroom at Sekolah Ciputra has a Smartboard or large screen TV and every teacher at the school has completed training to ensure effective use of technology. Ciputra Hall, our Performing Arts Centre is capable of seating 710 and uses state of the art technology, to serve the students of Sekolah Ciputra as well as the wider community. Plans are under way for the construction of a new Pre Elementary School which will allow for the increasing enrolment to be accommodated.
In the last few years, teams of our students have competed in the World Scholar’s Cup locally, in Bangkok, Dubai and Singapore in the Regional Rounds, and then at Yale in the US for the Tournament of Champions. Most excitingly, Sekolah Ciputra has twice hosted a round of the WSC. In the latest round of WSC events, more than 40 students went to Bangkok and we were delighted with the fact that many were invited to the champions’ tournament in Yale.
Students have many opportunities to explore the world around them. Some engage in video conferencing for the Model United Nations, some support and attend environmental workshops around the world, whilst some go overseas on cultural exchange programmes. They can learn a musical instrument at school from qualified tutors, enjoy a wide variety of extra-curricular activities and, of course, play many different sports both internally and as representatives of the school.
And there is much more. Stay tuned to the News section on our front page for more about what is happening at Sekolah Ciputra.
Academically, last year was the best year in the school’s history. In the IB Diploma Programme examinations, 90% of our students achieved the full Diploma. Our top two scores were 41 (out of a maximum of 45) equal to the best ever. The average grade in the DP has been increasing steadily over the last four years and now sits above 5 (out of a maximum of 7): not bad for students the majority of whom do the examinations in their second language. This truly fits with our mission. Students of Sekolah Ciputra are proud of their national identity, embrace the spirit of entrepreneurship, celebrate cultural diversity and possess the skills, integrity and resilience to participate in a changing global society.
Please come and see us at the school. You will be assured of a warm welcome and more information on our programmes and activities.
