Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

Semester reports will be issued this week and you will have the opportunity to meet with the teachers. I urge everyone to take this as a time to reflect critically on progress and put in place steps to support improved performance. As I have written many times, when students, parents and teachers work together on a common goal, great learning outcomes can be achieved.

Congratulations to those staff members who organised our recent examinations and final summatives in the High School. This was a superb effort, both highly organised and highly effective. As I previously advised, please use your results as a springboard for resetting goals and getting the support you need.

How wonderful to have teams come in and vaccinate our 6–11 year olds. I am delighted to say that we had a very high uptake over the two days. This adds another layer of protection for the school community and hastens the journey to our eventual full reopening. It was also great to be able to host other schools onto the campus and be a good neighbour in supporting them with their reopening process. Another measure we take to improve safety is to randomly PCR test students and staff each week. We have decided to share the macro results with you. These are posted as a table on the school website in the parents, tab under the heading, “Covid Reopening”

Please be careful over the break. We have been delighted with the steps taken to reopen large parts of the school and no one wants to return to full online learning. If you think there is any chance your child has been in contact with covid, please make sure that they are tested before returning.

Finally, I wish all of you the very best for the holiday season. Have a blessed Christmas and a happy New Year. Stay safe. We look forward to meeting again for the new semester.

Have a great holiday.
