COLLETA ONEIDA NATHANIA
GRADUATED: 2019
1. Can you please share your experience applying to university?
I started applying to UK and Indonesian universities in the last semester of grade 12. Although rigorous and nerve-wracking, my IB diploma education made me feel prepared and qualified throughout the application process. I managed to receive acceptance from several top universities in this country and overseas.
2. After graduating from Sekolah Ciputra, where do you study? What is your major?
Universitas Airlangga and my major is Veterinary Medicine.
3. What is your current activity? Please share an overview.
I am in the process of conducting my undergraduate thesis research on antibiotic resistance. Before this, I spent my third year of university studying in VetAgro Sup, France on an Erasmus exchange, and in November 2022 at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand on a microbiology internship. I am looking forward to interning in veterinary practices and furthering my clinical abilities.
4. What do you expect to do after graduating from university?
After graduating from university as a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine, I will be pursuing further education to become a licensed veterinarian. Following this, I hope to open my veterinary clinic in Surabaya and provide outstanding animal care.
5. In what way did Sekolah Ciputra contribute to who you are right now?
Sekolah Ciputra has been a significant part of my life; being enrolled in the school since I was 5 years old, it has shaped me to become the global thinker I am today. I am curious, dedicated, and passionate because of Sekolah Ciputra. Sekolah Ciputra has provided its students with invaluable experiences they will not receive anywhere else. Most notable for me, is the year 10 work experience week where I interned at a veterinary clinic, which led me to want to become a veterinarian now.
6. What was the best thing about Sekolah Ciputra? Tell us something memorable from your time at Sekolah Ciputra.
One of my favorite parts of Sekolah Ciputra is how the school allowed us to explore all our interests, both academic and non-academic. I participated in the World Scholar’s Cup for several years, which elevated my skills in public speaking and broadened my worldview. Additionally, the school is also very supportive of the arts, allowing musicians (like myself) to participate and showcase our talents and abilities in the annual school productions, Ciputra’s Got Talent, and many more events.
7. What advice would you give to a graduating student?
As a recent graduate myself, I do not think that I am qualified to give extended advice to the current graduating class. However, I hope that Sekolah Ciputra graduates remain risk-taking and ambitious. Be ready to explore the world with an open mind and do so fearlessly. Set goals for yourself, dream as big as you can, and be resilient. Know that any hurdle or misstep is not failure but part of the learning process to let you grow.
8. Would you recommend Sekolah Ciputra to others? If yes, what would you say about it?
I would definitely recommend Sekolah Ciputra! It has given me and thousands of others, a well-rounded education, allowing us to be intelligent and creative. The facilities provided by the school, especially now, are state-of-the-art and unlike any other school in the city!
9. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy more creative activities, such as crocheting, sewing, reading, and et cetera.
10. Anything else you would like to share?
Sekolah Ciputra is an exemplary school that provides the best education. With amazing faculty and staff, cutting-edge facilities, and a rigorous curriculum, I am so grateful to have received a Sekolah Ciputra education.
