Where did you go to university? What did you study?
After graduating from high school I moved to The Netherlands and lived for five years in Amsterdam. I studied Fashion & Management at Amsterdam Fashion Institute learning fashion, textiles, marketing, and also the business side of a creating your own brand.
What was the inspiration behind your business?
Rove was born in 2016 after our brother’s brand: Radja Leather was born. Radja is a brand that has been focusing heavily on the leather supply industry specialising in merchandise and souvenirs that cater to the needs of many big corporations in Indonesia. After running Radja for a while, there were tons of inquiries asking if we could provide souvenirs for weddings! This is when we got the idea of making another brand that focused on celebrations: weddings, birthdays, engagements. We wanted to provide a timeless and long lasting genuine leather gifts and mementos that all guests would be happy to receive.
What product/service do you provide?
Rove provides sustainable, genuine leather goods for any special occasion! Whether you are looking for gifts for your guests, family, wedding parties or any special occasion – big or small – we are here to help you! We are based in Surabaya and Bali. All of our items are handmade starting from the first to last step. It is our pleasure to help you find the perfect souvenir that matches both your taste and your budget.
You can personalize and customize everything from our leather product assortment to make your wedding day special and memorable for you and your guests. You can decide the design, colour, embossing, engraving, right through to the packaging.
We also provide a Live Stamping Service, a special additional service, to honour your guests – making your wedding day even more memorable. What is a typical day like for you?
Hmm.. A typical day for me in the office? Waking up at 7, coffee first – then everything else hahaha. My everyday office hours are filled with meetings and brainstorming on how to grow our business: from designing, looking for new inspirations, gathering ideas and making sure every project is on the right track! Oh and also – looking for new clients hahaha. Every day is a busy day for me. I love the fact that I learn something new every single day – it’s always an adventure and challenge at the same time.

There are more than a million memorable memories for me at Sekolah Ciputra.
I was a student for 10 years and the school took part in shaping me to be the person who I am now. My teenage years are filled with happy memories! From making friends with the best people in the world who I can call my sisters since Grade 3, to being a participant of the Caretakers of Environment International, when I was in Grade 10. We flew to Hong Kong for a week!. I always get a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart every time I think of my teenage years in school 😉
What advice would you give to a graduating student that was interested in creating their own business?
START NOW! The earlier you start, the sooner you will be able to enjoy your own success and hard work! Be passionate about what you do, so that you will always look forward to tomorrow. Good teamwork and communication is the key in every business, so treat others like how you would like to be treated. Be humble and always be confident in every decision you take.
