Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

It is lovely to have a settled feel in the school. It is obvious that students and staff are very much enjoying the hustle and bustle of the school and the many opportunities to learn and interact inside and outside of the classroom. As the letters we have sent out in the last two weeks regarding our Covid response state, we wish to maintain this as the status quo for as long as we are allowed but are also realistic and understand that the situation is a volatile one and could change at any time.

Last week we mentioned the parent information sessions. These have been very well attended and the tone in the meetings has been a very positive one. Having been in many schools over the years it is obvious that the positive relationship between the school and the parents in the school contribute to enhancing learning relationships.

As you visit the school you will see the lots of flags and other decorations that have been erected to help celebrate Indonesian Independence Day.  There is already a focus on this theme in the classrooms and we will build up to our main celebrations on the 16th and 17th of August. On the 16th, PYP will be holding a flag ceremony in the morning and the senior students will be celebrating with traditional games in the afternoon. The morning of the 17th will see all students from Grades 6-12 holding a flag ceremony on campus. Information regarding Independence Day will be sent home via the units. We are off to a busy yet very rewarding start.

Have a great week!
