Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

Well done to the Parent Support Group (PSG ) who organised another proactive event, “Keeping up with the teens,” on Friday afternoon. It was a thought provoking but very useful discussion that gave practical insight into the basics of good parenting and the consequences of poor parenting. Our PSG works tirelessly to support our school community.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Santa run. It was great to be combined with parents and students from other schools and to be supporting such a deserving charity. We raised over 30 million for our charity. Well done!

On Saturday the new OSIS/StuCo designed mural was painted in the school and looks spectacular.

Adding to a busy weekend, the school opened as an SAT Testing Centre on Saturday morning. We had 23 students from Sekolah Ciputra and around Surabaya taking their SAT’s with a view to entry into US universities. Having this centre opens yet another pathway for our students as they build the strength of their college applications.

The High School students continue with their examinations and final summative tasks this week. As previously stated, the information from this testing, the reports and the parent interviews is invaluable in resetting and planning for the following semester. On a similar theme, it was great to attend the PYP parent workshop on assessment and reporting. The PYP has revolutionised the way they report and are gathering and sharing high-quality information on student progress. The Toddle program has really assisted this process which will lead to enhanced student outcomes.

The final week of the term is designated Book Week with a wide range of activities. This week is a great opportunity to reinforce just how important a skill reading is. The event is a continuum one with lots of great cross over activities including the book character parade as well as the peer reading. It is always wonderful when students of different age work together.

Have a great week!
