Dear Parents, Students and Staff,

Last week I devoted a large proportion of this newsletter to the great job the Parent Support Group (PSG) do in supporting the school. This week following the very successful celebration of Chinese New Year I am repeating the message. We had a fabulous turn out of the wider school community with students, parents, alumni, and staff enjoying the celebrations and entertainment. It was a wonderful way to come together as a community in celebration of the event. The collaboration between the staff (and particularly the Mandarin staff) the student leadership groups, (OSIS and StuCo) and the PSG made for a memorable event that highlighted our strengths as a community. Thank you to everyone who was involved, and we hope you enjoyed the New Year with family and friends.

After a short break we are back to the excitement of the Ciputra Cup. Once again OSIS is in the thick of action ensuring that the event runs to schedule, that teams are organized and that people are where they should be, when they should be. It has been a mammoth undertaking, but the reward has been a wonderful tournament.

In amongst all these activities let’s not forget that the core role of the school continues unabated. We had the pleasure of reporting our MAP data to the board that showed Sekolah Ciputra to be significantly above world averages in English, Mathematics and Science in Grades 3, 6 and 9. We also are in countdown mode for our Grade 12 students who face the mock examinations shortly and then the last phase of their preparations for their final examinations. After a three-year hiatus Grade 12 students will complete the full round of examinations.

Have a great week!
