Dear Parents, Students and Staff,

Thank you to everyone who was involved with our information booth at Ciputra World at the weekend. It was wonderful to be able to showcase our school and see how amazed the public were seeing the educational technology that we use routinely in the school. I think sometimes we take for granted just how well resourced we are! Our students are used to using 3D printers, laser cutters and a wide range of hardware and software as part of their day-to-day schooling experience. The booth was superbly organised and we were very happy with the amount of interest and enrolments it generated. A number of our classes are full for next year, so it is important that parents of prospective students get their applications in soon.

As always in a school community that numbers in the thousands there will occasionally be issues. Parents will justifiably want to ask questions, get clarification or even complain about situations that they are not comfortable with. I strongly urge parents to follow our complaints procedure. This will enable any issues to be addressed promptly and professionally. The first step in this process is to take your issue to the level where it belongs. It should be referred initially to the teacher with whom the issue lies for resolution. If this does not work it can be easily moved on to senior staff member, unit principal and if required to me. This is a far more proactive approach than WhatsApp discussions which tend to create more heat than light!  The positive resolutions of issues is an important part of the learner profile and models appropriate learning behaviour.

We look forward to a successful Model United Nations next weekend and wish the contestants all the very best of luck

Finally, there is one week to go for the grade 12 students before their all-important mock examinations. We wish them all the best of luck and hope that they use them as an appropriate steppingstone for their IBDP examinations.

Have a great week.
