Students have the opportunity to participate in a rich and diverse programme of activities offered in the Performing Arts at Sekolah Ciputra. These include, music ensembles, competitions, drama productions and music performances, together with the Whole School Visual Arts exhibition. The Arts facilities include three Art, one Drama and two Music classrooms, with three soundproof music practice rooms. Students benefit from the use of Ciputra Hall, a 710 seat Performing Arts Centre with state of the art sound and lighting for school productions, performances and assemblies.
Sekolah Ciputra offers an instrumental music tuition programme during and after school hours to students from PYP B to Grade 12. Lessons are provided by experienced music teachers from accomplished music schools in Surabaya, including Seraphim Music Studio and Wisma Musik Phapsody. Students can learn violin, cello, piano, flute, drums and guitar, with instruments also available for hire.
From Grades 7-9, students participate in Drama, Music and Visual art classes. In Grade 10 students can choose to specialise in either Visual Art or Music for the whole year. Grade 11 and 12 students can take the IB Diploma or school based Diploma specialising in either Visual Art or Music.
Sekolah Ciputra Performing Arts produce a number of events during the year including a theatrical production involving over 100 students. Previous performances have included Grease, Oliver, Dig It, Rara Mendut, Macan Hok-kian, Cinderella, The Wizard of Oz and High School Musical. In addition a Christmas concert with a wide variety of acts is put on by the Music and Drama department.
A highlight of the year is the whole school Visual Arts Exhibition. This is held each year showcasing work from PYP to Grade 12, including the Diploma students final exhibition.
