Aeromodelling & Drone Take your curiosity to new heights! In this ECA, students will explore the exciting world of aeromodelling and drones — learning how they work, how to build and operate them safely, and the science behind flight. Guided by Mr. Harry M.S. and his team from the Aeromodelling Club, participants will enjoy hands-on projects and flying practice. Open to Grades 4–6 every Thursday. Animation Drawing A freehand character drawing programme with many kinds of styles and characteristics of drawing from each animation, comics, games, and movie industries (Manga, Marvel-DC, Disney, Manhwa, etc). Encouraging students to find their own drawing style and create their own characters that can be used in industries like comics,video games, movies,or company mascots in the future. This ECA is open for grade 1-6 every Monday from 3:00-4:00 PM and all participants of this class will need to bring their own coloring equipment. Students provide their own racket (compulsory) and shuttlecocks will be provided by the trainer(s). Badminton has several benefits, including physical and mental benefits such as: Basketball Basketball ECA is open for grades 4 - 6 students that are categorized into 2 groups. These 2 groups above are different from the basketball elite team. These two basketball ECAs have a cost and there will be an extra fee for the basketball jersey. Basketball focuses on: the Fundamental Skills, Ball Handling, Basic Dribbling, Basic Passing on the wall, Basic Shooting Skills. At the same time through this ECA participants learn to work in a team and will prepare students to be on the school basketball team. The Elite team: Basketball elite team is selected, no payment attached and is different from ECA, in that it is prepared for joining any school competitions nationally or internationally. This group practices two times in a week which is on Wednesday & Thursday from 3:00-5:00 PM. On Wednesday they will join Basketball ECA for boys. Capoeira Join the exciting world of Capoeira, a unique Brazilian art form that blends dance, acrobatics, martial arts, and music! In this ECA for Grades 3–6, held every Wednesday from 3:00–4:00 PM, students will work with Escola Cultural Zungu Capoeira Indonesia (established in 2007, Surabaya) to build strength, flexibility, rhythm, and teamwork. They will learn basic moves, songs, and how to play traditional instruments like the berimbau and drums. Capoeira is practiced in a circle called a roda, where two people “play” together through friendly kicks, dodges, and spins. Fun, energetic, and full of culture, Capoeira helps students stay active, express creativity, and grow in confidence, discipline, and respect—no experience needed, just bring your energy! Cheerleaders There will be a charge/an extra fee if the team decides to have a team uniform. Chess Club The Chess Club is a new ECA this academic year led by Bambini Chess Club. This ECA is open for grades 4-6 every Thursday from 3:00-4:00 PM and participants may bring their own chess board. Learning chess helps improve a child’s concentration, memory, reading ability, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Playing chess trains both the left and right brains at the same time, which provide great benefits in child development. However, these benefits may not be fully reaped by learning chess through YouTube or other social media, due to lack of on-hand live assistance. Thus, Bambini Chess is offered as an extracurricular at SC. In each session, students will be provided with materials through various media and opportunities to practice what they have learned by playing with friends. Our materials cover basic theory, opening techniques, attack strategies and practical tips in playing chess, as well as rules in chess tournaments, including the use of a chess clock. Chess terms will be taught in both English and Bahasa Indonesia. Our Chess Instructors have attended hands-on training with GM Utut Adianto in Jakarta and are experienced in teaching, especially children and youth. Chinese Club The Chinese Club aims to foster understanding, appreciation, and respect for Chinese culture, language, and traditions within our school community. It offers a welcoming space where students can discover the richness of both traditional and modern Chinese life through hands-on activities, engaging discussions, and lively cultural celebrations. Coding PYP 1-2 by KodingNext In the Koding Next ECA program, children will engage in enjoyable activities using Scratch & Tynker while acquiring fundamental coding skills, fostering their readiness for future technological advancements and opening doors to exciting opportunities in the digital age. Coding PYP 3 - 6 by KodeKiddo The KodeKiddo Coding Club is an ECA for students to explore programming, computational thinking, and computer science concepts. It is open for all Elementary students PYP 3 - 6 every Wednesday from 3:00-4:00 PM at Sekolah Ciputra. Our curriculum covers various coding platforms and programming languages with project based learning where students can create their projects with different themes such as digital storytelling, online games, digital art & music, mobile apps, animation, math and logic with coding. The latest material includes lessons in artificial intelligence for kids & machine learning, as this technology is going to be used more in the near future. A recipe and cooking tips, material and ingredients are included in this ECA fee. One field trip to learn from a professional chef is included at this ECA’s price. Entrepreneur Club The PYP Entrepreneurship members will be nurtured to establish the school business and also join The School Enterprise Challenge 2024. Gamelan Kontemporer This is a club to learn to play Indonesian musical instruments from Java called gamelan. This ECA consists only for maximum 10 people therefore participants need a full commitment to attend. At the same time students show their caring in preserving cultural identity and also learn about cooperation in producing great sounds or music for a performance. This ECA is open for grades 3-6 every Friday from 3:00-4:00 PM in the Gamelan room. Hip Hop Dance, especially Hip Hop, a type of dance that is very popular with children, teenagers and young people. This type of dance has a clear basis, dance that is rich in culture, and is known throughout the world, so it will be an excellent provision for children to learn from an early age and one day it will not be impossible if they become international dancers. We work collaboratively with the G-Centre School. This hiphop school has a National Education permit and has the right to issue official certificates. Students provide and wear their own free hip hop clothes during practices. This ECA is open for grade 1-6 every Monday from 3:00-4:00 PM. By participating in this ECA, students learn physical exercises that will function to train stamina, tone muscles, and shape the body. Benefits Karate ECA karate is led by our School Attendance (SA)/ Security leader, it is open for grades 1-6 every Tuesday from 2:30-3:30 PM for grade 1-2 and 3:00-4:00 PM for grade 3 - 6. The Additional practice is every Saturday morning as an optional for karateka. Students need to pay extra/ an additional fee to buy karate clothes, gloves or body protectors. This ECA is part of the LEMBAGA KARATE - DO INDONESIA (LEMKARI) - Forki organization. Karate is very useful for developing the hobbies, interests and talents of SC elementary students. On the other hand, the implementation of this activity is a form of the school's attention to its students in order to carry out more positive activities. The students at Sekolah Ciputra are children who are in a transition from being a child to a more mature person, they start developing relationships outside and exercise their capability to put trust in others, they also have more energy so they seem more emotional. Lego STEM This unique Lego ECA gives children opportunities to learn principles of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) using Lego bricks while having fun and we work collaboratively with Bricks4Kidz. This ECA is open for grade 1-6 every Monday from 3:00-4:00 PM. This ECA has an instructor to student ratio of 1:8. Equipment and tools will be provided by the trainers. Lego STEAM activity can greatly help to improve students’ early childhood skills, problem solving skills, develop critical thinking skills, logic and spatial intelligence and focus. Math Square This ECA gives opportunities for students to be lifelong confidence in math. This ECA is led by the Math Square Education team. The Robotic competition held annually, is an opportunity to perform and challenge the ability of students in their Building Skills, Creativity, Logical Thinking, Teamwork and Problem Solving in Surabaya Robo Masters Cup (SRMC) as one of the competitions that students will participate in. Sahabat Perpustakaan Sahabat Perpustakaan is a student leadership program designed to inspire a love of reading, strengthen leadership skills, and promote the many resources available in our Learning Resource Centre (LRC). Students take on meaningful responsibilities that help shape LRC activities and outreach, while becoming enthusiastic advocates for literacy among their peers. Open to Grades 4–6, this program runs every Friday with Ms. Echa, our dedicated teacher librarian. Old School Schoolyard Game – those time-honoured activities that strengthen both body and mind – have arrived at Sekolah Ciputra! After an initial fitness evaluation, each week will be dedicated to a game your parents, your grandparents, and maybe even your great-grandparents played at school. Whether you have a competitive streak or simply want to boost your endurance and strength, you’ll feel right at home. Open to Grades 4–6, this program runs every Friday with Mr. Zach. Soccer Soccer ECA is open for grades 2 - 6 students that are categorized into 3 groups. The 3 groups above are different from the soccer elite team. These three soccer ECA have a cost and there will be an extra fee for the soccer jersey. Soccer focuses on: improving flexibility and strength. Leaping up to kick the ball, diving to stop the opponent from scoring, dashing down the field, basic kicking, basic passing, basic shooting skills. This activity is also to improve hand-eye coordination, learn to work as a team and perseverance. At the same time this ECA will prepare students to be the school elite team. The Elite team: Soccer elite team is selected, no payment attached and different from ECA, as this elite team focuses on preparing the team to join any school competitions, nationally or internationally. Taekwondo Taekwondo is a new ECA for this academic year that is open for grades 1-6 every Monday from 3:00-4:00 PM as a new option for this academic year and we work with Masuta Academy Taekwondo Club. Taekwondo can be loosely translated as “the art of the hands and feet”. Like other martial arts, TAEKWONDO is a combination of fighting techniques, self-defense, sports, exercise, entertainment, and philosophy. Taekwondo has a philosophy that teaches how every human being must think and have a positive heart, because positive thoughts and days will also give birth to positive actions. Taekwondo activities at school will be a positive platform for students who want to be physically and mentally healthy with positive characters. Taekwondo activities will be a positive forum for students in terms of exercising, wrapped in traditional Korean martial arts, so that in the future students can become individuals who are physically and mentally healthy and able to take care of themselves.
