News from the Executive Principal’s Desk

Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

This morning we received very sad news that Pak Kamit our Chief Attendant had passed away.  Our deepest condolences go out to his family. He will be sorely missed.

Last week the Grade 9 students completed their examinations. Congratulations to them for overcoming this hurdle as they begin preparations for their final year in MYP. Congratulations also to the staff here at Sekolah Ciputra who were able to put this programme together in a challenging online environment.  Hopefully, the days of such off-site, online examinations are numbered.

A few weeks ago, we received the news that as a result of our International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) visit, Sekolah Ciputra has been chosen as one of six schools world-wide to profile best practice in the delivery of IBO programmes. We will feature in the IBO magazine in the next few months. It is certainly an honour to be chosen for this and we look forward to sharing the article when it is published.

Next week the High School’s Ciputra’s Got Talent (CGT) will be held on Wednesday, 28th April. We wish all our finalists the very best of luck. All our thoughts and best wishes also go out to the class of 2021. Our Grade 12 students will be completing their final assessments next week. The following week the PYP will celebrate Book Week, which is always a favourite and fun week for students and teachers.

Congratulations to Alvaro! He recently won another gold medal in the Indonesian mathematics competition. His continued successes are a source of great pride for the school and we commend him for his ongoing effort.  Great work!

Lastly, the Grade 6 induction process to High School begins on Friday. This is an important transition for our Elementary students as they begin to navigate their way through the next part of their learning journey. We wish them all the very best for a successful day.

Have a great week.

Martin Blackburn
