The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) runs from Grade 7 to 10 and provides excellent preparation for the IB Diploma Programme, which the school offers in Grades 11 and 12.

The MYP aims to produce independent learners who are internationally minded and who possess the knowledge, attitudes and skills needed to participate responsibly in a changing and increasingly inter-related world.

To meet Indonesian Government regulations, Religion is taught as a separate subject with specialist teachers currently providing lessons for Christian, Catholic, Buddhist, Hindu and Muslim students. Civics is taught as a separate subject. Teachers in all curriculum areas integrate Indonesian culture and values into their programmes.

English is the language of instruction and communication in all MYP subjects except for Bahasa Indonesia, Civics and Religion. This provides a solid foundation for the Senior School programmes.

The classroom curriculum is supported by a range of camps, excursions and activities in which all students are required to participate.

Each year, MYP students must complete Service as Action, a service-based activity, out of school hours and maintain a journal for recording their activities and reflections. In Grade 10, the final year of the MYP, students complete a major Personal Project which engages them in independent inquiry and reflection.

MYP assessment is school based, continuous and varied. Sekolah Ciputra offers the school-based MYP certificate which summarises the performance of students during the MYP years at the school.

At the end of Grade 10, students are counseled into a choice made from the full IB Diploma Programme or the IB Certificate Programme. The choice is made after a comprehensive information and counselling process during the second semester of Grade 10.

Middle Years Programme
