Dear students, staff, parents, alumni and the whole Sekolah Ciputra community,

The big event taking place for the school this week is the Western Association of Schools and Colleges mid cycle review. It is hard to believe that we are already halfway through our six year accreditation. This visit gives the school the opportunity to take stock of the progress we have made over the past three years and recalibrate for the next. In consultation with our Board, the Parent Support Group, Students and staff we have already drafted our strategic plan for 2024-2027. The feedback we get from WASC will add the finishing touches to this document before Board approval and socialisation with the community.

The WASC visit allows us the luxury of having a team of expert educators come into the school to compare our processes with international best practice. We are very fortunate that we have a number of staff in the school, Ms Christine, Dr Chris, Ms Diana and myself who take part in these visits to other schools. In fact, just last week I conducted a visit to a school in Papua whilst Mr Chris went further afield to China. This gives us very good insight into best practice and what it means to be a truly international school. I look forward to the visit highlighting our strengths and helping to identify areas for growth.

As usual it is a very busy week this week. The sign ups for the next trimester of ECAs begin again, there are more volleyball matches, basketball try outs, the early years have their coffee morning whilst the grade 9 students have their university and career workshop. The grade 12 students are likely to give a huge sigh of relief as they finally hand in their extended essays. It is great to see such a wide range of activities across the school.

Have a great week.
