News from the Executive Principal’s Desk

Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

What a wonderful way to start the new term.  Seeing the banners acknowledging the teachers for World Teachers’ Day was a real treat and bears testimony to the wonderful relationships that exist between our staff and our students. The relationships are positive and professional and really assist in making for a wonderful teaching environment.  Thank you to the OSIS and STUCO teams for exemplifying the learner profile attribute of caring and thank you so much to our wonderful and hard-working teachers.

It was also wonderful to get the news about Alvaro and Tania and their great success in the Mental Maths Asia Cup 2021.  It is great to see them doing so well and also was great to note Alvaro’s modesty and encouragement of other participants.  The mathematics club is going strong.  Advanced mathematics has been introduced to Grade 10 and next year into Grade 9 so we look forward to ongoing success for our students in mathematics.

The start of a new term gives everyone a chance to reassess their progress to set goals and to get the support required to be successful.  We encourage everyone to do so.  This is what we mean in our school vision when we refer to being professional. Let’s look forward to a positive and professional term!

Have a great week.

Martin Blackburn
