Welcome back to the 2022-2023 academic year. We look forward to another challenging yet enjoyable year where we work together to build a positive future for our students. Congratulations to Josephine Onggowarsito who gained a score of 40 in the IBDP examinations. This is a world class result, arguably made much more difficult by two years of online learning, disruptions and variability in the marking and moderation of internal assessment. She, alongside all the Class of 2022 should feel very proud of their achievements. School begins this week and you will notice some exciting upgrades. There are new classes in the High School including a new wellness/entrepreneurship room, a new weight training gymnasium, and
refurbished basketball courts. Just a few of the twenty-four major projects our property team undertook during the break. Our thanks go to the property team who have worked so tirelessly as well as our incredible Board of Trustees who continue to invest so heavily in the school. The site is ready, the teachers are in place, and we look forward to a very successful year. We sent a message last week regarding attendance at school. Grade 12 students are expected to attend all classes face-to-face. They will not have a hybrid option. All other classes will have a video link but this will be reserved for those who have school permission to attend online. This is a facility to deal with Covid, and not a method to facilitate other activities such as travel. Students may not combine online and face-to-face teaching. As stated in the letter, this is the current situation, we all know that it may
change. We welcome Dr Christopher Allen to the High School as our new High School Coordinating Principal. We know he will enjoy his time here and contribute to the ongoing development of the school and its
students. We begin the week with a welcome for our new students and their parents in the High School. We very much appreciate the fact that our Parent Support Group (PSG) will participate in this activity. School
begins full time on Wednesday, 27th and, as stated before, we look forward to a happy and focused year. You have all been sent copies of the respective Parent Handbook which outlines most school systems and is a very useful source of information and communication. Please do not hesitate to ask if
you have any questions.

Have a great week!
Martin Blackburn
