Dear Parents, Students and Staff,

The grade 12 students are at the halfway stage of their mock examinations. There is certainly a lot of pressure on students in preparing and completing examinations and the staff in marking them to give students high quality feedback. The information that these examinations give us is invaluable, and students really need to demonstrate and practice the learner profile attribute of balance in using the result as a learning opportunity. Please take the opportunity to learn from your results. Focus on the areas where you did not do as well as you would have liked and work in these areas. If necessary, attend tutorials and ask about what you do not understand.  These examinations are designed to be a steppingstone to a better result in April/May.

This week sees the major summative for both the PYP Exhibition and MYP Personal Project. As a community we look forward to seeing examples of high-quality learning and understanding. The important part of these projects now is focusing upon how the students can articulate their learning. We look forward to them sharing their findings and being candid about both the strengths and weaknesses of their work so that they can better develop the capacity for critical thinking. We wish everyone involved all the very best for this challenging week and look forward to the presentations and performances.

The 30-day challenge starts today. This is an opportunity to build fitness and even more importantly build the habit of regular exercise. The capacity to form positive habits is becoming recognised as a major influence on people’s lives and we hope this will provide a positive opportunity for growth. We look forward to seeing staff and students set goals and challenge themselves.

Have a great week!
