Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

Congratulations to all the students that took the opportunity to attend the workshop organised by the PSG on handling difficult topics with your child. A key theme that emerged from the workshop was children are naturally curious and will seek information. It is better that there are positive channels of information between you and your child otherwise the risk is run of children getting answers to their questions from less reputable sources. A big thank you to the PSG.  We are truly blessed to have a group like you to help support our school socially, emotionally and academically.

Well done to all the students who participated in the High School Athletics Day on Friday. Once again the event was well organised and the house competition was tough. There is nothing better than seeing students competing hard and to the best of their ability. Thank you also to the staff who supported the event and the PE staff for their organisation.

Thank you to all the parents who came to the High School parents’ coffee morning with Mr Terry.  It was nice to see such a big crowd and have the involvement with so many parents.

This Friday we have a teacher only day. The focus is to make sure that we as a school are well prepared for our combined IBO and WASC visit in September of 2020. The process is for the school to reflect upon its many systems and to prepare an action plan for improvement. No organisation can claim to be perfect.  Having a team of ten international educators in our school looking at all our systems will provide wonderful feedback and give us the capacity to improve our school in terms of international best practice. Thank you also to all members of our community who have participated in our consultations. We have large numbers of staff, students, parents and alumni involved in our self-study and will continue to do so throughout the year. Please take the time to check the article on our website, “What is the WASC /IBO visit?”

Have a great week.
