“I would recommend Sekolah Ciputra to others. Sekolah Ciputra has made me who I am today – a strong, independent person.”

WILLSON KENNETH
GRADUATED: 2019

1. After graduating from Sekolah Ciputra, where do you study? What is your major?
University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, majoring in Medical Biology.

2. Can you please share your experience applying to university?
Deciding which university to apply to was a difficult process since there are lots of things to consider when applying to universities. My parents were first introduced to universities in Germany since they offer high-quality education at a low cost. I then learned German and prepared myself to write the university entrance exam before finally getting accepted to the public university.

3. What is your current activity?
I’m currently in my last year of bachelor degree. I’m also planning to do an internship in a research group at the university hospital.

4. What was the biggest challenge of moving to a new country? How do you overcome it?
For me, it is definitely the language. Everything, including my studies, is all in German, which is why communication is one of the biggest challenges I face every day. To overcome this, it is really helpful to find German friends that I can talk to and spend time with. It will not just help me with language but also with adapting in Germany.

5. What do you enjoy most about your new environment?
Meeting new people from all around the world.

6. In what way did Sekolah Ciputra contribute to who you are right now?
Sekolah Ciputra taught me to be a strong, independent person, which is crucial for me to survive in Germany.

7. What was the best thing about Sekolah Ciputra? Tell us something memorable from your time at Sekolah Ciputra
The best thing about Sekolah Ciputra was of course spending time with the Diploma boys. I wouldn’t have survived Diploma without the help and support of my fellow Diploma boys. Also, Diploma chemistry was really fun and memorable.

8. What advice would you give to a graduating student?
Be brave and just go for it! Also don’t forget to have fun, because High School can be the best time of your life.

9. Would you recommend Sekolah Ciputra to others? If yes, what would you say about it?
Yes, I would recommend Sekolah Ciputra to others. Sekolah Ciputra has made me who I am today and Sekolah Ciputra allowed me to meet people from different kinds of backgrounds.

10. Recently you and your friend visited Sekolah Ciputra again, please share your experience when visiting the school.
We were shown around by Mr. Markus, my ex Chemistry IBDP teacher who is now the Principal of Sekolah Ciputra. He showed us how Sekolah Ciputra has developed and improved since we left the school back in 2019. We also got the opportunity to share our experience on IBDP Chemistry HL during Mr. Markus’s class and give encouragement to the current students of Sekolah Ciputra.

11. What is one of the reasons you would like to visit Sekolah Ciputra again?
I would like to meet the teachers who have helped me throughout my Diploma years.

12. How was Sekolah Ciputra when you visited the school again?
I was quite surprised with the upgrades that Sekolah Ciputra has made since my time in Sekolah Ciputra. The facilities and the technologies are both getting better.
