The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) runs from Grade 7 to 10 and provides excellent preparation for the IB Diploma Programme and the pre-university courses offered in Grades 11 and 12.

The MYP promotes international mindedness and supports individual learners to become self-regulated, process-oriented learners who possess the knowledge, attitudes and skills needed to participate responsibly in a changing and increasingly inter-related world.

To meet Indonesian Government regulations, Religion is taught as a separate subject with specialist teachers currently providing lessons for Christian, Catholic, Buddhist, Hindu and Muslim students. Civics is taught as a separate subject. Teachers in all curriculum areas integrate Indonesian culture and values into their programmes.

English is the language of instruction and communication in all MYP subjects except for Bahasa Indonesia, Civics and Religion. This provides a solid foundation for the Senior School programmes.

The classroom curriculum is supported by a range of camps, excursions and activities in which all students are required to participate.

The MYP provides students with opportunities to participate, collaborate and assume leadership through a range of service learning initiatives and each year students must satisfactorily complete the school’s service as action requirements and reflections. In the final year of the MYP, the grade tens complete the Personal Project, a sustained investigation driven by the student with the support of a supervisor. The Persona Project is a culminating experience that models the learning behaviours needed for independent study in Grades 11 and 12.

MYP assessment is school-based, accessible, continuous and inclusive. Students are given opportunities to improve through the provision of a variety of tasks. In the final year of the programme Sekolah Ciputra offers students and their families the opportunity to sign up for externally validated MYP courses and e-portfolios on an opt-in basis. In the final year of the Middle Years Programme, the students work closely with the College Counsellor, Diploma Coordinator and teachers to ensure a smooth pathway into their pre-university programme and beyond. Students are counseled and choose between the full IB Diploma Programme and IB Certificates / High School Diploma. Subject choices are made after a comprehensive information and counseling process during the second semester of Grade 10.
