The PYP celebrated International Dot Day in style with a wide variety of art activities organised by the Arts Committee. While it was a lot of fun it also encouraged creativity and lateral thinking. Expressing yourself through the medium of art really enhances learning and uses parts of the brain that are often not stimulated by traditional classroom activities. Spacial awareness for example, so important for mathematics, is enhanced through art. A well rounded academic programme will always provide an opportunity for students to express themselves through the arts.
