News from the Executive Principal’s Desk

Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

Student agency is a wonderful thing. Essentially it refers to the idea that students should have a say in their learning environment, what they learn and how they learn. About a year ago the school made the decision that it would help support student agency by asking the Captain and Vice Captain of STUCO and OSIS to attend continuum SLT meetings every month to give student perspectives on the running of the school. The contribution of these groups has been amazing. It is wonderful to hear their voice developing.  We are especially happy with the work they have done on the learner profile attributes as well as the school House system. They are a group to feel very proud of and their leadership is making a wonderful contribution to the school.

The celebrations of Global Entrepreneurship Week went very well. It has been wonderful to see the entrepreneurship programme going from strength to strength and see the links being forged between the school and businesses big and small in our local committee.

Heros day also provided a great reflection time for us as a school. The concept of service is always evident in our school and it is wonderful to acknowledge the service of so many heroes to our community. It was so nice to see the Early Years students dressed up as heroes too!

Our next continuum event will be Book Week which will be bigger and better this year. We look forward to giving you more information.

Have a great week.
