Dear Parents, Students and Staff,

We celebrate Bulan Bahasa this month with a series of Indonesian language activities that demonstrate our pride in our national identity. The month cumulates with our Bulan Bahasa assembly on the 28th, where poetry, short stories and speeches will be presented. The interesting thing happening this year is that students from North Shore Christian Grammar, from Brisbane Australia who are studying Indonesian have been joining in the activities.  This year they are doing so virtually but the plan is that next October they visit the school which will provide a wonderful combination of local pride and internationalism.

Congratulations to the High School for a very successful athletics day on Thursday. We were very fortunate with the weather and the students competed strongly and demonstrated great enthusiasm and sportsmanship.  Congratulations to Yellow House on their victory.

On Saturday we began the scholarship testing process for the next three years. We should be delighted with both the calibre and the number of the students who are applying for scholarships. Over the next week those short listed will undertake an interview and the scholarships will be awarded. The standard is very high and we wish to congratulate everyone who has put themselves into the process.

The high school will hold their student led conferences on Tuesday. This provides a great opportunity to reflect upon progress and reset goals. We look forward to the three-way collaboration between students, staff and parents.

Good luck to our senior boys and girls who have their first away games in the Surabaya Sports League against SES on Friday. I hope we get lots of support for what will be a challenging pair of fixtures.

Finally next we have our university fair which provides a great opportunity for all our students to research and begin the decision-making process about their next steps. We have a wide range of universities from around the world and Indonesia present. We wish everyone involved all the very best of luck.

Have a great week.
