Dear students, staff, parents, alumni and the whole Sekolah Ciputra community,
It was wonderful to experience our continuum assembly and celebrations for sumpah pemuda. It is always having the whole school together in the MPH, divided into their four houses competing fiercely. Great also to see that their knowledge of Indonesian language and customs was the subject of the competition. The celebration was outstanding and the participation and enthusiasm fantastic.
It was great also to see the enthusiasm of the grade 10 students as they worked through their taster classes as part of the pathways project. The classes were an opportunity to get to know more about the new subjects and the students were highly engaged and worked well.
We have had a very active week with sports with our soccer and volleyball teams all competing this week. This week our teams are participating in the PASS tournament. We have a very full schedule over the next few weeks with the Ciputra Cup and other friendly games scheduled. This extends as far as activities like the Model United Nations with the team recently returning from a very successful trip to Singapore. We look forward to participation in the inter schools golf tournament on Thursday too.
Congratulations to all the students and staff who took part in the Beyond Market Exhibition over the weekend. As usual our students were wonderful!
The last part of this message regards academic performance. Firstly, on Monday and Tuesday selected students will be taking part in national assessments. Generally, though, with all the commitments students have it is not unusual for them to occasionally fall behind or even to feel that there is a concept that they do not fully understand. I strongly advise any student who feels this way to take advantage of the fact that so much support and tutorial time is dedicated to ensuring that students can stay on top of their studies. This ranges from the weekly homework club to faculty tutorials and on to personal small group support. If you are feeling like you need extra support do not hesitate to ask your teacher, your homeroom teacher, your counsellor or even your principal. We are here to support students in reaching their academic goals.
Have a great week.
