News from the Executive Principal’s Desk

Dear parents, students, teachers and alumni of Sekolah Ciputra,

Last week marked an important transition point in the academic calendar. Our Grade 12 students have now completed their DP examinations, concluding a significant chapter in their Sekolah Ciputra journey. We congratulate them on the perseverance, resilience and maturity they have demonstrated throughout this demanding period and wish them every success as they await their results and prepare for the next stage of their lives.

At the same time, our Grade 10 and 11 examinations have now begun. We encourage students to remain focused, organised and balanced as they move through this important assessment period. As always, support remains available through our teachers and academic support structures, and we encourage students to seek assistance whenever needed.

We received this great news over the weekend from Ms Lolita.  Over the weekend, three of our Grade 11 students — Feyy Avilla, Kaysee Henika, and Zahra Adinda — participated in the LDI (Lomba Debat Indonesia) competition under the supervision of Pak Diko. The event was organized by the English Teachers Association in Surabaya and aimed to select the top three speakers who will represent Surabaya in the next round at the East Java level.

This year, 20 high schools across Surabaya took part in the competition. Throughout the two-day event (Saturday and Sunday), the participants engaged in four debate rounds each day, competing from morning until late afternoon against various schools.

We also participated in this competition last year and successfully sent two outstanding students to represent Surabaya. We are proud to share that this year our team achieved 1st place in Surabaya, and once again, two of our students — Feyy and Zahra — advanced to the next round to represent Surabaya at the East Java level

Looking ahead, this week our PYP students will undertake PAIS and PAT assessments. These assessments are important tools in helping us measure student growth and progress since the first semester. They also provide valuable international benchmarking data and contribute to the quality control of our teaching and assessment programmes. Follow-up assessments for students in Grades 3–9 will take place the following week. While assessments are important, we remind students and parents that they form only one part of a much broader picture of learning and development.

This week also gives us the opportunity to recognise Pancasila Day, an important occasion in Indonesia that celebrates the foundational values of unity, respect, justice and shared responsibility. These principles align closely with the mission and vision of Sekolah Ciputra and the values we seek to nurture in our students each day. As an internationally minded school grounded in Indonesian culture, we are proud to celebrate diversity, mutual respect and social harmony within our community. Pancasila reminds us of the importance of working together for the common good and treating others with compassion and integrity.

Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support during this very busy and productive time of the school year.

Have a great week!
