Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

What a momentous week.

After two years in the making, with some bumps in the road, our Grade 12 cohort sat their first IBDP examination. It is quite an achievement for these students to get to this position. To say that the DP is challenging is a massive understatement. This course pushes our students, moulds them in the ways of the learner profile and turns out young people who have all the skills, resilience and integrity to participate in our ever changing global society. I wish all our Grade 12 students the very best of luck.

The Cross Country run on Tuesday was a fabulous event. It was great to see the friendly competition between our students and the eight visiting schools students. As usual the PE department did a fine job with the organisation and our students demonstrated that they have a nice balance between competitiveness and good sportsmanship. Well done!

The PSG excelled themselves with the organisation of Culture Celebration Day. I was a great way to end the week with a celebration of international diversity, with many cultures being represented in food, dance and song.

Things are not slowing down either. Over the weekend our teachers were busy again coaching students for the World Scholar’s Cup which will be held on the 11th and 12th May.

Finally, all the best of luck to our wonderful Grade 6 cohort who have their transition day to High School on Wednesday.

Have a great week!

Martin Blackburn
