Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

Last Friday we hosted a meeting for all the International Baccalaureate (IBO) schools in Surabaya.  While we are the largest and the only continuum school in Surabaya teaching all three programmes, there are a number of other schools that teach at least one of the programmes. This is part of our commitment to build the capacity of our school and shows leadership in the IBO community. Making these connections also provides opportunities to enhance teacher training and give our students access to a wider range of learning experiences. We often refer to the IBO learner profile and as an organisation we model these fundamental principles. For us, this means demonstrating leadership as we collaborate with others because when there is genuine collaboration there is genuine growth.

This also fits in very closely with the Ciputra Group values of Integrity, Professionalism and Entrepreneurship. When we are open and genuinely collaborative we demonstrate integrity. Our professionalism is enhanced when we plan and implement opportunities for staff to grow and improve, while the act of adding value to the network is an act of entrepreneurship. It is also nice to see our school through the eyes of others and to realise the high regard we are held in because of the high standards we have built and continue to build. Just as the learner profile is important to each individual in the school, it is also important to the whole organisation.

All the best to our boys’ basketball team this afternoon.

Have a great week!

Martin Blackburn
