Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

It was great to see both the PYP and HS complete their book pickups during the week. A great feature of our online learning has been the fact that we have been able to cycle hard copy materials in and out of the school. This has helped to maintain the connection between home and school which is vital as well as give students feedback on their progress.

Speaking of positive feedback, it was wonderful to see all the award winners from the JISMO competition coming in to school for their drive through award ceremony. The school has increased its participation in JISMO over the years as it tests the students’ capabilities in mathematics and science. It is very pleasing to note the sheer scale of achievement with so many students doing so well.

Congratulations to all the students from inside and outside the school who participated in the first stage of our scholarship selection process on Saturday. Phase one is to assess the students’ ability in English in mathematics in a standardised test that is marked externally. If this is not challenging enough we set the assessment one chronological year above the students’ age! Students are shortlisted based upon their results and selected through a combination of a set essay and interview. It is a tough process to get through and we should admire the efforts of everyone who is involved.

As has been written previously, Term 3 of the year is a very important one in terms of defining the magnitude of success students will enjoy. The PYP Exhibition, the MYP Personal Project, and the Grade 12 mock examinations require significant dedication and application. We wish all the very best to those students who are facing difficult deadlines and are available to help you overcome any challenges or difficulties you may face.

Have a great week!
