Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

This week saw us celebrate both Kartini Day and Earth Day. Supporting the development of leadership opportunities for women is critical in ensuring that our society develops into a fair and equitable one. Development economists cite the leadership and economic emancipation of women as being critical to economic development and critical to the development of ongoing prosperity. Similarly, treating our planet with respect and ensuring that the growth in living standards we enjoy, does not come at the cost of a sustainable future, is also critical as a long term development strategy.

I spoke last week about the need to ensure we try and get something positive out of what is a very difficult experience. Reflecting on the world we live in and the part we play in ensuring that these two objectives are real in our lives is certainly one of them.

Yesterday a letter went out confirming that the school will remain in online learning mode until 2nd June. I hope that we will then be able to open to face to face, but whatever the outcome we need to embrace the current reality and make the most of it. There is a lot to be optimistic and positive about!

To help celebrate World Book Day please check out the new HS Library website. The link is https://sites.google.com/view/lrcsekolahciputra/home-page-dl-2020?authuser=1

We hope that this will become an increasingly popular interactive site for you to use, and that it helps enhance the online learning experience.

Have a great week!

Martin Blackburn
