Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

Welcome back everyone. It is great to be able to get our school year underway. Despite the ups and downs of the pandemic we can look forward to the year with optimism and confidence. It is great to note the progress being made on our school community with vaccinations which raises the hope that we will be able to begin our hybrid learning programme.  Irrespective of whether we are online, hybrid or face-to-face I am delighted with the level of preparation and readiness.

We had very good news (once again) for our graduating class of 2021. They managed to produce three records for the school. They were our largest cohort to ever sit the IBDP. (We had twenty more students sit than last year). They have also achieved the highest average score with an amazing 33.5, well above the world average. They also managed the largest number of students with grades of 40 or above. Congratulations to the nine students who achieved this feat!

So lets look forward to the year ahead. We know the challenges that lie ahead of us but we should feel very confident in the robust systems of support that the school possesses, the excellent technology available, the high level of planning and the teamwork and collaboration we enjoy.

Everyone should take the opportunity to visualise what they want to have achieved by the end of the year and then pursue that goal. We are confident that we can work alongside every student to help them to achieve their goals.

This year marks the start of our new strategic plan which includes a small but important change to our school vision. Our vision is now, “Students at Sekolah Ciputra are proud of their national identity, embrace the spirit of entrepreneurship and professionalism, celebrate cultural diversity and possess the skills, integrity and resilience to participate in a changing global society.  The key addition to the vision is the word “professionalism.”  As a staff we have discussed what this means for teachers and how they should model it. Students will discuss how a professional outlook and attitude will help them develop as more rounded people. This is an exciting time and we look forward to working closely with you.

Have a great week and a great year!
