Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

Picking up from what was written last week the current Billboard outside Ciputra Hall is one to be very proud of. It shows just how wonderfully supportive our community has been in providing support for the needy people in Surabaya. It also fits beautifully with our school vision in demonstrating pride for our city Surabaya. Once again congratulations to everyone for their unbelievable generosity.

It is hard to believe that this is the beginning of week five and we are rapidly approaching the halfway point of our term. As the year is well underway, now is a very good time to take stock of our individual progress.  A wonderful feature of our online learning programme is the ability of students to get individual feedback and support from their teachers. I recommend High School students to make the most of the opportunities provided for tutorial times with their teachers. Being proactive, reflecting on your work and booking tutorial times to enhance learning goes a long way in ensuring success. Similarly, in the Elementary, students are able to get extra help from their teachers.

It also fits with our school vision. Embracing the spirit of professionalism means being serious about our goals and getting the support we need to do the best possible job that we can. The ability to reflect upon our work and to put in place steps to enhance our understanding is an important part of learning and the teacher can support this by being a critical friend. This teamwork around learning is a huge part of the teaching and learning process.

Finally, we hope to get news about the timing of the second vaccination for students this week. It is an important step in our reopening plans.

Have a great week
