News from the Executive Principal’s Desk

Dear Parents, students, teachers and Sekolah Ciputra community,

Welcome back from the Eid break. We hope that you all had the opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends. This is a special time for hope, togetherness and new beginnings.

Congratulations to everyone, students and staff who contributed to making the finals of Ciputra’s got talent in the high school, such an entertaining event. It was lovely to see the talent, enthusiasm and enjoyment.

The major initial focus for us upon our return is the grade 12s. They have one final week in school before they move into examination mode for their International Baccalaureate Diploma examinations.  This is the culmination of two years’ work and has a lot riding on it for the students. There follows a month-long examination period during which two years of study will be assessed. It is a high stakes process. We also have a number of students participating in the MYP E-Assessments. After this is complete all grades in the HS and some elementary will have their final examinations or summative tasks. So clearly this period of time is focused upon academic performance.

We balance this with a number of elementary tournaments (football and basketball), the celebration of Earth Day in conjunction with Ciputra University, World Anti Bullying Day, grade five camp in Kaliandra and the World Scholar’s Cup to name a few. We look forward to a strong finish to the year, with students highly engaged in their learning and the continuation of our learning journey together.

Have a great week!

Martin Blackburn
