News from the Executive Principal’s Desk

Dear students, staff, parents, alumni and the whole Sekolah Ciputra community,

We wish everyone involved in the HS camps the very best of luck this week. This is a great opportunity for students to experience classrooms without walls. The camp experience enables students to practice resilience and independence. Alumni almost always mention camps as being one of their most enduring memories of their time at Sekolah Ciputra. We hope that this years’ experience will be a positive and memorable one for all the students involved.

That being said, it is not just the HS students who are experiencing camp. 24 intrepid HS parents have signed up for parents’ camp. On Tuesday and Wednesday, they will come into school as students and experience two days of MYP teaching. We hope that they also enjoy this experience, have many happy memories and gain insight and understanding into the school programme.

Congratulations to our senior boys’ and girls’ basketball teams who had outstanding wins in their respective second round basketball games last week.  We look forward to their continued progress. As they progress the challenges get significantly greater, but we know that they have the fortitude to give it their best.  Over the weekend we also heard the great news that our junior boys team overcame a 20 point halftime deficit to stage an incredible come back and clinch an exciting victory. Fabulous work!

We held our first batch of HS enrolment tests over the weekend. This was very well attended and very competitive. We have a very high quality of applicants for the limited positions we have available in the schools. We wish them all the very best of luck.

The elementary will mark International Peace Day with an assembly on the 20th. I think that this message is one that we wish to amplify at this time!  We know they will do a fantastic job in raising awareness.

Finally, we have just received word that the Sekolah Ciputra chapter of the National Honours Society has just been awarded a service award for excellence.  We are one of very few schools outside the USA to receive this. We will pass on more information on this but congratulations to Dr Christopher and the team!

Have a great week.
