Dear parents, students, teachers and alumni of Sekolah Ciputra,
We have enjoyed a very positive start to the second semester, with students returning to school settled, focused and ready to learn. The beginning of a new semester is always a valuable moment to pause and reflect. While the year may feel long ahead, experience reminds us how quickly time passes. This is an ideal opportunity for students to reset goals, reflect on their progress so far, and actively seek the support they need to achieve their personal best. These habits of reflection and self-management are central to the IB learner profile and to our mission of developing lifelong learners.
As learning continues to evolve, we are also maintaining a strong focus on the appropriate and ethical use of technology and AI. Students and families are reminded that all members of our community have signed a digital citizenship agreement, committing to responsible, respectful and principled use of technology. The use of IT and AI at Sekolah Ciputra must always align with our school values, as well as our specific IT and AI guidelines. Used well, technology enhances learning; used poorly, it undermines integrity. We ask for the continued support of families in reinforcing positive digital citizenship at home and at school.
One of the highlights of the week was the Colour Run, organised by our outstanding National Honor Society (NHS). After a night of rain, the dawn delivered a beautiful morning, and the event was filled with energy, colour and enthusiasm. Participation was excellent, and the joy on display reflected the strong sense of community we value so deeply. Our NHS is an award-winning organisation currently leading eight projects that enhance our school, protect our environment and serve the wider community. Their commitment to service, leadership and action is truly admirable, and we thank them for the magnificent work they continue to do.
Looking ahead, parents are invited to the SST session 5 in the Borobudur Room. We also have outings for PYP 1 students and a PYP Exhibition (PYPX) parent meeting, as we begin building towards this important culminating experience. Further ahead, we are preparing for the DP Design Exhibition, another wonderful showcase of creativity, innovation and problem-solving. As usual staff will have their semester child protection briefing, a critical part of our organisational culture and structure.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership as we begin this semester together with purpose and optimism.
Have a great week!
Martin Blackburn
Executive Principal
