Dear parents, students, teachers and alumni of Sekolah Ciputra,
A major highlight last week was the inter-school cross country championship, where our students performed exceptionally well, dominating all sections. This is a wonderful reflection of their dedication, resilience and commitment to training, as well as the support of our coaches and staff. We are very proud of the way our students represented the school, both in their results and their sportsmanship. The alumni team performed well, and it was great to have them participate!
Our Grade 12 students have now completed the first week of their DP examinations. We commend them for their focus and determination during this important period and encourage them to maintain their momentum as they continue. Across the school, this is a timely reminder of the importance of balancing the many opportunities available with a clear focus on academic goals.
This week also included a successful Grade 8 assembly, along with a number of engaging PYP field trips, which continue to enrich learning through real-world experiences. In addition, our STUCO E-Sports competition has begun, providing another platform for students to engage, collaborate and compete in a rapidly growing area of interest.
We have also seen the start of election campaigns for the positions of President and Vice President of OSIS and STUCO. This is an important and authentic opportunity for students to experience the principles of democracy in action. Through campaigning, debating and voting, students are exercising their voice and agency, learning about leadership, responsibility and representation. These experiences are central to developing principled, active members of both our school and the wider community.
Looking ahead, next week promises to be equally exciting. We will host the PYP inter-school cross country, along with Ciputra’s Got Talent and the PYP Ciputra Cup Basketball. These events highlight the breadth of opportunities available to our students and the importance of participation and community engagement.
The focus on anti-bullying day on Monday promises to give students good insight into this damaging phenomenon.
As we navigate this particularly busy period, we encourage all students to remain focused, organised and mindful of their academic objectives. With the right balance, students can both enjoy these rich experiences and continue to achieve their personal best.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership.
Have a great week!
Martin Blackburn
Executive Principal
