Book Week is an annual event at Sekolah Ciputra. During this week we celebrate our love of books and we learn about new books that we can read and enjoy. The week involves a series of events:
1. Guest readers – parents and teachers are invited to classrooms read stories toAstudents. Parents read stories in English, Bahasa Indonesia and Mandarin.
2. Book Fair – book sellers were invited to display a variety of books and teachers,Astudents and parents had the opportunity to buy new books. We also used the opportunity to support one of our favourite charities – Indonesia Belajar which welcomes donations of books to distribute to children in remote areas of Indonesia who may not have access to libraries or bookstores.
3. Snuggle-up and Read Day – this day was about giving students the pleasure ofAreading, particularly at bedtime. Students and teachers wore their pajamas toAschool and shared stories with students throughout the day.
4. The most fun part of Book Week is the Character Parade on the last day,AStudents and teachers dress up as their favourite character and there is a parade through the school. This year there were many students dressed as Harry Potter and a variety of Disney Characters. Teachers took theAopportunity to show their fun and creative side with a number of popularAstory characters.
Book Week is always a huge success and each year we notice that students are including characters from a wider and wider range of books.
