Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

Congratulations to all the staff and students who took part in and/or facilitated SNA’s Model United Nations during the weekend. The feedback was amazing and our school did a great job.

Speaking of great jobs. Congratulations to OSIS and the whole student body in the High School. The anti-bullying week held last week really helped raise awareness about this issue amongst our community. This is so important. As a large organisation we need to be extremely vigilant to ensure all members of the school feel safe and secure. It is important that we regularly focus on bullying to help build and maintain a safe learning environment. Students performed open microphone sessions in the canteen every lunchtime while OSIS collected donations. This raised over Rph 5 Juta which was donated to an Indonesian anti-bullying charity. It cumulated on Monday morning with an OSIS organised assembly which bravely confronted the issue while also providing students with information and strategies. The purpose of the assembly was to inform and empower our students. A critical phrase that was repeated was, “ be an upstander not a bystander.”  An upstander is someone that will not allow bullying to happen around them and will intervene to support the victim and challenge the perpetrator. The assembly itself showcased the talents of our students while also demonstrating our students’ willingness to ensure that their learning environment is safe and happy.

Have a great week.
