On Thursday, 15 February, PYP held a Chinese New Year assembly to welcomeA�theA�year ofA�theA�dog. This assembly gave studentsA�a chance toA�learnA�moreA�about Chinese culture along with theirA�Mandarin lessons in the classroom. ThisA�celebrationA�aligned with theA�SekolahA�CiputraA�Vision and IB Mission Statement about building students intercultural understanding and respect.

The assembly started withA�BarongsaiA�and DragonA�Dance performances.A�During theA�event, students donated moneyA�to aA�charity programme which is organized by STUCO.A�A video about some facts related to Chinese New YearA�was alsoA�shown to give everyone an understanding of the ritual and tradition behind this festival.A�We thenA�followedA�up with aA�choirA�who sang a�?e?�cs�a?�A�a??a�?, PYP 1 dancing, Chinese Fashion Show, Chinese Rhyming and the teachera��s band who sang a Chinese song.A�
