Dear parents, students, teachers and alumni of Sekolah Ciputra,
This past week has been a wonderful showcase of student learning and engagement. Our Grade 9 students have been exploring the science and psychology of happiness in an interdisciplinary unit that encourages critical thinking and real-world application. Their presentations on Friday demonstrated not only their depth of understanding but also their ability to communicate complex ideas with confidence. This type of learning reflects our mission to develop students who are inquisitive, reflective, and capable of making meaningful connections across disciplines. It also gives students into their own thoughts, feelings, emotions and wellbeing.
On Friday, we also held the High School Student-Led Conferences, an event that highlights the importance of student agency in learning. These conferences allow students to take ownership of their academic journey, reflecting on their progress and setting goals for the future. We appreciate the support of parents and teachers in making these discussions meaningful and productive.
Looking ahead, next week will see our PYP students take centre stage in their own Student-Led Conferences. This is a fantastic opportunity for our younger learners to share their achievements and growing independence in learning. Additionally, on Monday, we are excited to host the Elite Art Mini Auction, an event that beautifully combines creativity with entrepreneurship. This initiative not only celebrates artistic talent but also encourages students to explore the business side of the arts, reinforcing the value of innovation and enterprise.
Finally, as we approach the Eid break on Thursday, we extend our warmest wishes to all families celebrating this special occasion. Eid Mubarak! May this time be filled with joy, reflection, and togetherness.
Have a great week!
Martin Blackburn
