Graduation year: 2017

What university are you studying at?

Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia. Iam studying Food Science and Technology

What was the biggest challenge of moving to a new country?

I personally think the biggest challenge of moving to a new country is to adapt with the new environment and culture.AI have to communicate with a second language, meet new people from different backgrounds and obey new regulations/rules. Also, living away from myAfamily was a big deal for me, we are very close and the feeling of being apart made me veryAanxious.

What do enjoy most about your new environment?

WhereAI am living right now is very quiet and peacefulAcompared to Indonesia, hence, this encourages me to study even more! Less distractions, which means that I’m more focused on uni and work.

What do you expect to do after graduating?

I would like to work in a well-known food industry especially in their new product development (NPD) team.

Are you doing any work experience?

I’m currently working as a quality control (QC) in a fruit industry which distributes fresh produce to Australian supermarket giants such as Coles and Woolworths. And…. I’m having an internship as quality assurance (QA) and new product development (NPD) in a company named Vesco Foods. They produce frozen foods which you can find in supermarkets.AIn few yearsa time, I’m hoping to get myself a position in NPD focusing on confectionaries.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Due to the hectic schedule from university, whenever I have free time I use this very wisely to either rest, watch moviesAor hang out with my friends.

Tell us something memorable from your time at Sekolah Ciputra.

The yearly camps were totally the most memorable time at Sekolah Ciputra, those activities really taught me how to deal with challenges.

What advice would you give to a graduating student?

I have an encouraging quote from one of myAfavorite Disney movies which I live by.

“Venture outside your comfort zone. The rewards are worth it.” -Rapunzel (Tangled)

So, to all graduates, enjoy every last moment in Sekolah CiputraAbecause once you enter uni, you’ll DEFINITELY missAeverything you did in highAschool. ALWAYS study hard and achieve the best, don’t complain easily and don’t be afraid to aim high.AStay positive and just believe in yourself then you’ll be surprised what you’re really capable of.
