Welcome back everyone. We are looking forward to an action packed Term 2. This, as you know begins with our re-authorisation visit from three IBO teams and an accreditation visit by WASC this week. As mentioned, it is likely that visitors will be joining the classrooms from Tuesday through to Thursday. We look forward to using this as an opportunity to learn and grow as an organisation.

It was nice to read the piece written by Alvaro about World Mental Health Day and the importance of looking after the mind as well as the body. This advice is often overlooked and the article provided a timely reminder about the need to take stock of our own wellness.

Tomorrow the school celebrates the International Day of Failure. The video we shared with you explains why.  Put simply, using mistakes and failures positively, tends to help us to improve and grow, whereas avoiding mistakes often means that we do not reach our potential. Understanding that making mistakes and experiencing failure is a necessary part of succeeding and a very healthy learner attribute.

Finally, thank you to OSIS for the amazing job they did celebrating World Teacher’s Day during the break.  It was wonderful to receive personalised notes from our students and a real reminder about how lucky we are to have such an enthusiastic and engaged student body.

Have a great week and a great Term 2!
