Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

Today we begin our simulation with Grade 12 students. They have the opportunity of coming into school for their oral assessments. This will happen in small groups of six at a time and gives us the opportunity to look at the way the school is organised for future reopening. We wish the Grade 12 students all the very best for these important assessments.

Today we are also reporting on assessment to the Board of Trustees. Staff in the school will be presenting their MAP results to the Board and outlining the steps that they have put in place to improve student understanding and the overall quality of the programme. This will then be followed up when the students are re-assessed in April. This will give us a good understanding of how our programme is working and the progress our students are making. We will also be discussing the steps the school takes to ensure academic integrity.

Today also marks the start of planning for our new strategic plan. We will be discussing the current mission and vision with the Board as well as our core priorities. Based upon this we will put together a timeline for consultation for designing the plan which will be in place from the beginning of the 2021 school year until 2024. The plan will be based upon the Board’s strategic vision, feedback from WSC and the IBO as well as priorities identified by staff students and parents through our consultation process (including our surveys). I look forward to as many parents as possible being involved so that we develop a plan that recognises who we are and also sets our direction on how we want to grow.

Have a great week.
