Dear students, staff, parents, alumni and the whole Sekolah Ciputra community,
Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is celebrated this week. It is fitting that the key events will be centred in our new innovation and entrepreneurship building. This will be the first time the upstairs part of the building will be used and serves as a kind of soft opening before the official opening on the 12th of the 12th. Entrepreneurship as you know, sat at the heart of Pak Ciputra’s vision for the school and this is a wonderful way to celebrate and encourage it.
As you have probably noticed from the many activities on our entrepreneurship section of the website, entrepreneurship plays a very active and vibrant part of our school community. In addition to the theory that students are taught, we actively encourage students to set up businesses. Each month we profile an entrepreneur of the month. It is also nice to note the growing number of our alumni who continue with their businesses after they leave school. GEW will showcase student businesses in the innovation and entrepreneurship building. There will also be workshops, success stories and ongoing classroom activities. It promises to be a very exciting week.
Over the weekend we held the second and senior part of Ciputra Cup season 1 for senior football and volleyball. Again, we can only express our admiration for the outstanding organisation demonstrated by the students as well as the wonderful support given by staff. This is an incredible event, and we look forward to next semester with season 2 (basketball).
Well done to our grade 12 musicians for their wonderful recital. The quality of the music was outstanding, and we look forward to their continued development as they build towards their examinations.
This week our second trimester of ECAs begin. We look forward to seeing students enjoy a wide range of activities within the school. We also wish those involved in the chess competition all the very best of luck.
Have a great week!
Martin Blackburn
