News from the Executive Principal’s Desk

Dear students, staff, parents, alumni and the whole Sekolah Ciputra community,

Congratulations to all of our fabulous students who were involved with the celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week. This was a wonderful experience.  Seeing student businesses built by students of all ages was a real revelation. The knowledge, coupled with the passion and enthusiasm for being in business was a potent combination. We are sure many of these students will join the swelling ranks of our alumni who run their own businesses. It was wonderful to see. The other activities such as workshops and success stories were equally compelling.

Thank you to the PSG and our amazing student leaders who organised the celebrations for teacher appreciation day. This was supposed to be celebrated on Friday, but the PSG organised the sale of thank you bracelets from the start of the week. On Friday morning the parents provided breakfast for the staff whilst OSIS organised gifts of flowers and other treats. On behalf of all my teaching colleagues here at Sekolah Ciputra I want to thank our parents and students for their generosity, and even more importantly the recognition of the job that teachers do. It means a lot!

Running alongside these two events we had the PYP’s “Cascade of kindness,” celebrations, designed to encourage kindness, humanity and empathy amongst our students. The activities were wonderful culminating with a very successful twin day on Friday. Well done on a fantastic event!

Examinations and final summative tasks are the order of the day for the next three weeks. Our senior examinations will be held in our purpose-built innovation and entrepreneurship building which has been configured in such a way as to make those sitting examinations feel as comfortable as possible. We wish students all the very best in the process and also strongly recommend that the feedback received is used as a foundation for revision. In keeping with the theme of Failure Day a few weeks ago, mistakes are a very powerful teacher! Finally, a reminder that this Wednesday the 27th has been declared a holiday for the elections.

Have a great week!
