Dear students, staff, parents, alumni and the whole Sekolah Ciputra community,
Gōng Xǐ Fā Cái. May you be happy and prosperous.
This week is dominated by preparations for and celebrations of Chinese New Year-the year of the snake. A huge vote of thanks must go to the continuum Mandarin professional learning group and our wonderful parent support group for the amazing support they have given to this series of events. It is wonderful to be part of a school community that includes the active participation of all community members and knows how to join in celebration and gratitude.
Congratulations also goes to the organisers of the Sekolah Ciputra MUN. From humble origins 7 years ago, it has become a major event. This year we had over 100 delegates including schools from Jakarta and Bali. We were pleased and proud to be able to utilise Ciputra Hall for a presentation by a UNICEF representative and our new I and E hub for the social on Saturday evening. This event is largely student organised, and they did a first-rate job. Thanks also needs to go to all the staff who gave of their time, and especially Dr Chris, the HS Principal who worked all weekend including Saturday evening. We are lucky to have such dedicated staff.
I am drafting this entry on the 100th day of school. This was celebrated in the PYP but also puts us all on notice that we are very much at the business time of the year. The PYP Exhibition, the MYP personal project and the IBDP mock and actual examinations are just around the corner and are a huge summative challenge for all those participating. As ever we are confident in our students’ success but also in the knowledge that help, and guidance is available for anyone who needs it.
Have a great week.
