News from the Executive Principal’s Desk

Dear parents, students, teachers and alumni of Sekolah Ciputra,

This has been a truly momentous week in the life of Sekolah Ciputra. We have just successfully completed both our WASC re-accreditation and IBO re-authorisation. While the final reports will take several weeks to arrive, the feedback from both teams was extremely positive. In particular, the WASC team commended the school for having a rare, shared vision built around our three core values and the IB learner profile. They described Sekolah Ciputra as a community where these values are lived daily, always accompanied by smiles and positivity.

This achievement would not have been possible without the collective efforts of so many. On behalf of the school, I extend heartfelt thanks to the Board, our Parent Support Group, our alumni, our students, our teaching staff, and our business staff. We approach this milestone with gratitude and humility, recognising that the work of continuous improvement never ends, and that we achieve most when we work together as a united community.

Hard on the heels of this we received two pieces of wonderful work later in the week. The first was that our 2024-2025 National Honors Society had won an overall excellence award.  The significance of this cannot be underestimated.  This is highly prestigious and very difficult to achieve. This award recognizes excellence in all four pillars of the National Honors Society.  They have certainly set the bar very high and provide yet more evidence of Sekolah Ciputra students achieving global excellence. On a similar theme our elementary STEAM teams entered their first competition and came away with first and third places respectively!  This is an outstanding~` achievement and great reward for the investment the school has made into STEAM resources and computational thinking!  It also gives the teams entry to the Global Robotics Games in Singapore 2025.

Our students also brought pride to the school in other ways this week. Our Junior Boys Soccer team competed in the school’s first ever EAPISA international tournament, earning an excellent third place. Meanwhile, the Senior Boys Basketball team secured a convincing victory in their DBL match. It was also wonderful to see our students, staff and parents working side by side in the school garden as part of the Guardians of the Garden project, living out our values of care and responsibility.

Looking ahead, next week our Grades 6–11 will depart for camp. Camps are an essential part of learning beyond the classroom, providing opportunities to build resilience, independence, teamwork and leadership—qualities that connect directly to our mission and the IB learner profile. On Saturday, several senior students took part in ICAS, while selected Grade 5 students will soon undertake their national assessments. We are proud of the way our students continue to challenge themselves academically and personally.

Together, these achievements and experiences illustrate what it means to be part of Sekolah Ciputra: a community committed to growth, learning and wellbeing.

Have a great week!
