News from the Executive Principal’s Desk

Dear parents, students, teachers and alumni of Sekolah Ciputra,

It has been another purposeful and inspiring week at Sekolah Ciputra, marked by student leadership, creativity, and a strong sense of community that continues to reflect our mission, vision, and values.

A major highlight of the week was the Grade 12 Design and Technology Exhibition. This exhibition showcased the culmination of months of inquiry, design thinking, and problem-solving, as students presented sophisticated projects grounded in real-world contexts. The quality of thinking, innovation, and reflection on display was a clear demonstration of the IB learner profile in action, particularly attributes such as being knowledgeable, reflective, and risk-takers. We commend our students and staff for the professionalism and pride evident throughout the exhibition.

Equally impressive was the Ciputra Cup Volleyball Tournament, an event entirely organised and led by our students. From planning and logistics to officiating and communication, students demonstrated exceptional leadership, collaboration, and commitment. While supported by staff volunteers, the ownership taken by students was outstanding and reflects the confidence we place in student voice and agency. Events such as this do more than build sporting skills; they develop resilience, teamwork, and a strong sense of responsibility.  The tournament climaxed with both our girls and boys team triumphing.  Demonstrating our depth, the boys’ squad was split in two and the two teams both made the final giving us a first and second result.  Exceptional work by everyone.

Our commitment to international-mindedness was also evident this week. Sekolah Ciputra was proudly represented at the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS) triennial journal, where our Deputy Executive Principal Dr Chris, presented on entrepreneurship In addition, artwork created by our students was displayed, celebrating creativity and cultural expression on an international platform. These opportunities reinforce our belief that learning extends beyond the classroom and that our students benefit greatly from engaging with global perspectives.

Looking ahead, we are excited to host the Sekolah Ciputra Model United Nations (MUN) this weekend. This event will bring together students from across schools to engage in debate, diplomacy, and global problem-solving, strongly supporting the IB focus on international-mindedness and principled action.

Parents are also advised that a letter has been sent home regarding the World Scholars Cup. Due to the continued growth and popularity of this event, it will now be held across two separate weekends, ensuring a positive experience for all participants.

As always, we thank our students, staff, and families for their ongoing support and positive engagement. The strength of our school lies in these shared efforts, which continue to create a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

Have a great week!
