News from the Executive Principal’s Desk

Dear parents, students, teachers and alumni of Sekolah Ciputra,

This has been another vibrant week at Sekolah Ciputra, full of achievement and opportunities for growth. Our boys’ DBL basketball team began their campaign with an excellent victory, supported enthusiastically by our cheerleading squad and our community of supporters. Junior boys’ and girls’ volleyball teams also took to the court, displaying commitment and teamwork. These activities reflect the IB Learner Profile attributes of balance and risk-taking, as our students learn to challenge themselves in a supportive environment.

Beyond sport, our students participated in the ICAS Mathematics competition, applying their skills against international benchmarks. We also completed PAIS/PAT testing across the school, ensuring we continue to track progress carefully and maintain high academic standards. Parents had the chance to gather at the High School coffee afternoon, which addressed DP results, university placements and the MYP E Assessment. These sessions strengthen the important partnership between school and home in supporting student learning.

We were delighted to send our junior boys’ soccer team to Bali for our first EAPISA tournament. Being part of this network of international schools across Asia and the Pacific opens doors for our students. It allows them to test their skills against peers from different cultures, build friendships across borders, and develop intercultural understanding — vital skills for the 21st century. We look forward to hosting EAPISA events here and to future trips abroad, with senior boys’ and girls’ basketball expected to travel to Taiwan later this year. These opportunities are not just about sport; they are about embracing international-mindedness, which is at the heart of the IB and our school vision.

We had really focused and enjoyable 3 way conferences in the EYP and PYP where students were able to showcase their learning.

Looking ahead, next week will be focused on the five-year visit from IBO and WASC teams for reauthorisation and reaccreditation. Thank you to the whole community for your contributions to our preparations. Later in the week, we will finalise camp arrangements and continue our DBL basketball campaign.

Our mission is to prepare young people for success in a global context. Through academic rigour, international connections, and strong community support, we are proud to see our students becoming knowledgeable, open-minded, and caring citizens of the world.

Have a great week!
