“Sekolah Ciputra stands out from the usual Indonesian schools by focusing on teaching students how to contribute to the community.”
ANTHONY FEBRIANTO YUSRAN
GRADUATED: 2017
1. How long were you in Sekolah Ciputra? Starting from what grade until what grade?
3 years, from Grade 10 until Grade 12.
2. After graduating from Sekolah Ciputra, where do you study? What is your major?
Universitas Kristen Petra majoring in Business and Corporate Communications.
3. What did you do after graduating from university?
After graduating from university, I did what many others do—I started looking for a job. I also had discussions with a friend, who is now my business partner, about how we could grow a business and what kind of venture we should pursue. In addition to that, I dabbled in game live streaming on YouTube while working on building the business.
4. What is your current occupation?
I’m the Co-Founder and Owner of KP/Dzign in Jakarta.
5. What product/service does KP/Dzign provide?
KP/Dzign offer tech consulting services for private PC building, catering to both hobbyists and professionals like architects and video designers, including IoT solutions, website development, personalized tech modifications, peripheral repairs, LED lighting, and 3D printing. Essentially, if you think about personalized technology, you think about us! We focus on providing tailored solutions to meet each client’s unique needs, ensuring clear communication about the pros and cons of each build based on their budget.
6. What was the biggest challenge of moving to a new city?
The unpredictability of the people around me. Interactions can be either really positive or, more often than not, quite negative, so I always have to be cautious about who I talk to, who I befriend, or even who I might unintentionally make an enemy of—sometimes, ignorance is bliss. Additionally, the competition for personal value is intense; I’ve met many skilled individuals who specialize in various fields, each coming from different cultural backgrounds, which can be challenging because I want to showcase my own worth in front of friends who have their own specialties.
7. What do you enjoy most about your new environment?
What I enjoy most about my new environment in Jakarta is the unique pressure it brings, which I find quite “fun”. Of course, things don’t always go as planned, and there are always unexpected challenges that can lead to either good or bad outcomes. Each day presents new problems and new solutions, and living here has taught me a lot, including valuable skills and life lessons, particularly in communication and socialization. To be fair, there’s nothing particularly special about Jakarta itself, but if a friend were to ask me what’s great about the city, I’d probably say it’s the food!
8. In what way did Sekolah Ciputra contribute to your job right now?
Sekolah Ciputra has significantly influenced my current job by teaching me the value of being a risk taker. Moving to Jakarta, living alone, and starting a business in a niche market has truly felt like living on the edge. Launching a new company in such a challenging economy isn’t always the best idea, but as a risk taker, I remind myself, “if we never try, we never learn; success often comes wrapped in failure”. This mindset is what led to the creation of KP/Dzign. While there are many tech companies out there, we strive to stand out by our design and personalized custom-made modifications. We tackle a variety of projects, from custom tech solutions to innovative designs, ensuring that we meet our clients’ unique needs and preferences.
9. What was the best thing about Sekolah Ciputra? Tell us something memorable from your time at Sekolah Ciputra
The best thing about Sekolah Ciputra was meeting a lot of people with different backgrounds and it is enough for me to remember all the laughter and experiences from Sekolah Ciputra.
10. What advice would you give to a graduating student?
You can have fun and share plenty of laughs at Sekolah Ciputra, but things get a bit more serious once you step into university. So, make sure to stay focused and make the most of your time there!
11. Would you recommend Sekolah Ciputra to others? If yes, what would you say about it?
Absolutely! I would definitely recommend Sekolah Ciputra to others. It’s not just another typical school; it stands out from the usual Indonesian schools by focusing on teaching students how to be good entrepreneurs and how to contribute to the community. In addition, it’s one of the best places for early networking. In my experience, the balance between academic activities and sports or bonding events is really well done. Sekolah Ciputra is truly worth it for any newcomers looking for a great educational experience!
