World Clean Up Day is a global event, held in 157 countries. This year it was held on Saturday, 21st September.

A few friends and I went along to participate in this activity and to help clean up Kenjeran Beach in Surabaya. We worked tirelessly to remove as much trash as possible from the beach.

During this experience, I learnt how to recognise and categorize what was waste or recycling then removing them from the sand. We all worked together to clean and pull the trash bag to the collection points. The hardest part for me was removing bottles and tied up plastics in the sand, but I managed to pull out a lot!
