Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

As you know, now that the PPKM level is 3 the school must be open and available for those that want to return. During the period of closure, the school has had a very active task force which has prepared for this eventuality and we were pleased to announce last week that our simulations will begin this Wednesday. We are beginning the process with simulations involving a relatively small number of students to ensure that our systems are robust. We will review our processes in the light of each simulation and gradually ensure that all classes are open and available for hybrid learning. Two key points arise from our process. The first is that returning for face-to-face learning is not compulsory. Parents have the right to keep their children away from school and have them remain in the online classes. The second is regarding the vaccination status. If you are sending your children in to school and they are eligible for the vaccination, we strongly urge that you have them vaccinated before they come into the school. We look forward to this first step back to face-to-face learning.

There are two interesting events occurring in the Elementary school this week. The first is “Random Acts of Kindness Week” which will give students and staff the opportunity to demonstrate the learner profile attribute of being caring. It is a wonderful initiative. The second event is  the 50K run. I would encourage as many staff, students and wider community members to participate in this event. Building and maintaining fitness levels is an important part of being healthy and happy. Thank you StuCo for these wonderful initiatives.

Have a great week.
